Dear Multimedia teachers,

Please find below a message from Margaret Mackenzie, Manager, VET Unit
and Susan O'Shannesssy, Project Manager, VCE Assessment.

In response to a couple of enquiries received last week, the VCAA
provides the following advice:

1. The Supplement to the March Bulletin is intended as 'industry
advice' to teachers about delivery, it's not about the requirements for
the examination. (Refer to the VET section of the March VCAA Bulletin
p.6).

2. There is no prescription intended; rather the advice clarifies
what industry representatives see as important and what their standard
business practice is. The Supplement offers two delivery options BUT it
does not require teachers to change their delivery and assessment
strategies.

3. The VCAA is not changing the software applications specified
for the 2005 VCE VET Multimedia examination. However, earliest versions
of specified software applications may be revised and updated where
appropriate.

4. Confirmation of the software requirements for the 2005 VCE VET
Multimedia examination will be included in the April VCAA Bulletin.

If there are other important VCE VET Multimedia examination-related
issues which you think need to be clarified, please email them to
oshannessy.susan.z at edumail.vic.gov.au
<mailto:oshannessy.susan.z at edumail.vic.gov.au> . It may be possible to
incorporate answers to FAQs in updated examination advice to be
published early next Semester.
