DATTA Vic are delighted to announce the finalists of So You Think You Can Design - Textiles!  Congratulations to:

Sarah Robinson, Salesian College, Rupertswood
May Crotty, Salesian College, Rupertswood
Madeleine Rosenbrock, Emmaus College, Warburton
Rachel Whitting, Emmaus College, Warburton
Olivia Peters, Genazzano FCJ College
Phillippa Piri, Genazzano FCJ College

Students throughout Victoria participated in a range of design challenges at school, and then submitted their work to be judged by a DATTA Vic panel.  The 6 finalists were selected based on the fantastic mood boards and designs they created.

They will now compete live in the finals at the DATTA Vic Maker Space conference on the 3rd of December at NCAT.  The 2 winners will each receive a Bernina 700D Overlocker!  If you're coming to the conference, don't miss the chance to see these talented designers at work!

SYTYCD is a great way to engage your students in the Product Design Process in a fun, hands-on way. We run 2 competitions a year - one for Wood, Metal & Plastics students at our May conference, and one for textiles students in December.  Taking part will communicate the importance of the learning area to your school community,and give teachers new ideas and approaches to teaching and learning.
