Deamon Tools is a freeware virtual CD/DVD emulator. It can handle most
image formats, and might be worth a look. I have used it successfully in
a single user environment, although I have never tried to share a
virtual drive

Might be worth a look.

We use a dedicated hardware based CD server for this type of thing.
Simple to manage, good capacity.

Cheers,

Greg

Does anyone have recommendations for CD-ROM sharing software? I'm
thinking of software that hosts a CD on a server (image, files or
whatever) and allows classroom PC users to have access to a CD
without it asking 'Please put the <wxyz> CD in Drive D'. I've used
something years ago, but it was not free, and I can't remember what it
was.
