Hi Keith,

Another option for you is to employ a trainee on a 2 year traineeship
fulltime. This will allow you have to a fulltime employee at about the
same ammount as you would pay a part timer per annum and the trainee is
able to obtain up to a Certificate IV in an IT course with a tafe by
correspondance. It's a win win situation for both parties.

Subject: [Technical] Off Topic - Pay Rates for Comp Technicians?

Please forgive cross-posts.

We are exploring the idea of employing additional Computer Lab
Technician time on a part-time basis. At times there may be a whole lot
of work to do (like now...) and in other weeks much less (dream on...)

My problem is that I have absolutely no idea as to what are the going
rates.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks, Keith
