Hi everyone (and apologies for the cross-posts),<br>

VITTA is running a free ICT Industry Bus Tour on Thursday 30th July (during ICT Week). The link to the tour is below:<br>

The purpose of this initiative is to provide an insight to teachers into the diversity of the ICT industry and for participants to inform students of real world opportunities.<br>

Come along and explore four distinctly different organizations servicing the ICT industry. The day will include hands on activities, one-on-one interaction with ICT industry professionals, networking opportunities, lunch at Monash University and will finish up with networking drinks at the Academy of Interactive Entertainment.<br>
<br>
Following is an outline of the tour schedule:<br>

9:00am Pick-up from VITTA Office<br>
9:30am Site Visit #1: Centre for Health Innovation (Alfred Hospital)<br>
12:00pm Lunch at Monash University<br>

I am struggling really bad with the programming for this course. I do not know a lot of Java and it scares me and I've had a look at the next SAC and realised that it was databases which I have no idea how to cope with in Java.<br>

Are you able to do them in Access and then link to them??? If so how is this done?<br>

Any help is welcome as I am in over my head with this.<br>

Also, are we able to do the Unit 4 SAC 2 before the Unit 4 SAC 1?<br>

Firstly, there is no requirement that the SACs are delivered in any<br>
particular order, so if you feel that you would like to do U4O2 first to buy<br>
yourself some time, then by all means go ahead. I usually like to leave<br>
U4O2 till the end as it is a good exam prep task and is also at the end of<br>
the SDLC - so it all works quite well from this perpective.<br>

In terms of the database, there is no requirement that U4O1 uses a database<br>
- only that it is a network type application. It just so happens that using<br>
a database is quite a common way of creating a network application. I am<br>
afraid I know nothing about Java - but thought I would at least email you<br>
with this advice - so hope this helps!<br>

Hello Allison,<br>

I used to use Java and did create a basic database. I now use C# which is<br>
very similar, mainly because it is contained with Microsoft Visual Studio<br>
2008 (but so is Java isn't it). You can just do a basic DB say of a students<br>
in a school and open/write/read/save/close student files. Are you using<br>
Visual Studio or Borland?<br>
