[Year 12 SofDev] Project Plan in a Spreadsheet

Hi Simon,

Here's a version I used to use as a demo in my early years. These days I'm encouraging my students to use Gantt Project for the actual Gantt chart itself, but I still get them to build the task table in Excel (and import it to GP.) The formulas for automatically calculating the end times and start times based on dependencies are very useful. I also find using Excel first gets students to focus on the tasks involved, rather than the software tool itself.

Chris

Subject: [Year 12 SofDev] Project Plan in a Spreadsheet

Hi everyone,

At the SofDev SAT professional learning event in Coburg, quite a few people said that they'd get their students to create their project plan / Gantt chart in Excel or Sheets. I've had a play with this but am not satisfied with the results.

Does anyone have any resources / examples on creating a plan in a spreadsheet?

Thanks,

Simon
