[Year 12 SofDev] B3 - cost effective

lake hume village NSW 3691

so how does that work in your proximity calculator Mark? ( LMHO #firstworldproblems)

it is a bit like Broken hill having an STD code of 08 and parts of nsw being 03

jokes aside, the fact is that if one ignores australian postcode conventions which include valid postcodes being 0800 (darwin) then in the real world (TM) one is ignoring the scalability. Given Aus small size commercially then teh ability to use code anywhere in aus has to be sensible approach (in real world - tm)

isn't it that sort of blinkered approach to the future that got us y2k ....?????

IMHO we should be teaching students to think outside our narrow little boxes ( little boxes all made of ... ruthlessly squashes potential song burst)

and if one thinks of simplification then stick with string (unified string theory can be introduced to the more advanced students at this point - all things are char or even binary)
(and i hope you have at least looked at this http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/57ff/ a great christmas present for someone)

It is difficult when the exam jumps around from terms used in the Real World ™ to the theoretical presumptions of VCAA Software Development World (like Vic postcodes). I think in VCAA SD World the they would use the term “cost efficient” or “cheaper in the long run” rather than ‘cost effective’.

Did anyone else have a problem with it? And since we already have a question about efficiency and effectiveness, why another one? I recognise that there is some help when the question says ‘produce code quickly’ and differentiates it from ‘quality of the program’ so students can separate these concepts.
