i just did some testing with Year 10s/11s and various configurations on their machines and seem to bealmost there when using IE!
(not acceptable 'language' for SD)

Not having any issues at Aquinas. We are running it through Internet Explorer, rather than Chrome - seems to be more straightforward when you need to open the .jnlp file for the Blocks Editor.
The blocks editor uses Java - we are using Version 7 and not having any problems, although I have heard that Java 6 is more stable with App Inventor.
Have you tried asking a question on the App Inventor Forum? http://beta.appinventor.mit.edu/forum/
We also go in through this URL http://beta.appinventor.mit.edu/
Do you have the Java runtime files running on the network?

hi all,
I was wondering if anyone had experienced any issues using app inventor ( http://www.appinventor.mit.edu/ )
over a school network ie via proxy server.
It works beautifully at home, but the Blocks editor fails to load the project at school.
Any ideas?

Hi Xin,
I don’t have teaching experience with Java, but with regards to Gamemaker, a few places to start
· Nat Brawshaws tutorials – available from Vitta
· The GameMakers Apprentice – some good bookstores, or Amazon
· The official tutorails http://sandbox.yoyogames.com/make/tutorials - my groups have usually done the first 4 in a term and then design their own game based on a combination of those.
