Maybe you could say how the task has discriminator questions/activities that allow superior students to demonstrate their special knowledge/skills that the average student would not be able to achieve.

To challenge students, the task was not made so simple and basic that students can complete it without thinking. e.g. it involves higher-level cognitive synthesis/evaluation tasks, it presents problems in a novel manner that takes thought to decipher. It might ask students to apply knowledge/skills in an atypical way (e.g. instead of explaining the ethical dilemma in a case study, they have to write an email to one of the stakeholders to explain their options.)

Maybe...

In case you haven't seen it yet, Paula explained the new VCAA audit procedure in a post this morning. You might want to check that out, along the bulletin Paula points us to.

Regards
Mark

Hi Kent, our VCE coordinator thinks it is a form of auditing. I want to make sure my responses are appropriate. For example:

Item 8
How do your tasks challenge and allow students to demonstrate the highest level of performance?
Is there a "typical response" for this type of question? Do I include terms like
Relevant
Timely
Age appropriate
Current events
Meaningful

Hope this makes sense. Thanks Harry.
