Hello Mark,

As I mentioned last term, My students will learn how to do both printed and online user documentation.

For online documentation .... students create a video documentation on how to use the software using a screen, mouse and microphone capture software. They covert it into a format that can be played on widows media player format.

On the actual form , there can be help button. Students click on this button and it plays the video in a second form that loads. Adrian Jansons visual basic net book has an excellent example how to incoporate wiindows media player into visual basic forms. We did it in class today .... dead easy.

It may sound more complicated than creating printed user documentation... but its not. In fact, it is quicker to create once you get in to the swing.

Subject: [Year 12 SofDev] ITA and SD U4O1 user documentation

Hi folks. I just wanted to draw your attention to a small but significant difference between SD and ITA if you're doing both subjects.

SD U4O1 and ITA U4O1 both include user documentation, but in ITA it must be onscreen documentation created by web or multimedia authoring software.

In SD U4O1 the user documentation is not constrained to being onscreen and "appropriate" software is not specified.
