[Year 12 SofDev] U4O1 Task 2 - Report/Test

Hi Mark,

A careful reading of p 36-37 of the assessment handbook indicates Task 2 is
to be completed as either a test or a report. The description of task 2 has
3 components, user doc, security and legal matters. The performance
descriptors for achievement level describe performance in all of these 3
components.

Therefore, I am left scratching my head as to how User Doc can fall outside
task 2 or is a separate issue to allocating either a test or report as the
mode of assessment and assessing all of user doc, security and legal matters
in the one task.

Is the suggestion that user doc can be a report and security and legal a
test ? Or that user doc is completed as part of task 1 but allocated a
score in task 2 and only questions relevant to security and legal are found
in the task 2 document ?

I do take your point about the ITA/SD crossover.

Mildly confused .......

Hi Kevork. My reasoning was that the test/report decision on the
legal/security issues knowledge was a 50/50 split, but I wanted my ITA kids
who were in SD to get practice in writing extended responses for the
anticipated 8-mark questions in the ITA exam.

As Paula mentioned, user documentation is a separate issue.

Regards

Mark

The top score descriptor for Task 2 includes the following:

"User documentation is appropriate, logically sequenced, complete and
accurate. Presentation is clear and consistent with generally accepted
conventions."

Could it be a test would make it hard to deliver this ?

Kind Regards

I'm doing a report. I had a good reason at one stage, but I can't remember
it now ;-)

Thanks for that, Mark. No matter how many marks for user doc, I reckon it
must be a really focused task for the user doc. I'm thinking of a
trouble-shooting guide for a specific process in my case study. Something
short and sweet. Are you doing a test or a report for the security/legal?

For me, 10 for user doc. 5 for security/legal. Pennypinching, I know, but
there's little choice...

Task 2 has only 15 marks out of 60 and some marks go to the user
documentation. What are people doing for the breakdown in marks with
Task 2? The user doc can't be a big task -- but that's OK. And the
remainder of marks are split between security and legal.

Is it better to have Task 2 relate directly to the case study and SRS of
Task 1? Or to have these marks on a new topic(s)?

Report? Test? Any ideas?
