Hi Brett,

I am in the process of uploading my materials to my new site - so U4O1:
EZX10-Shuns-4U! will be up very shortly if you decide you would like to use
it?

If so, let me know and I will get a wriggle on - and upload it for you
tonight.

Cheers,

Adrian

Subject: [Year 12 SofDev] U4-01 help

Hi all,

Back to the terror of creating a new semesters work for SD! Adrian and all
the other contributors make the task so so much easier. My Year 12's love
ex10shuns4u and have gotten right into it. I am lucky enough to have 3
bright programmers but getting them to meet the criteria on the written work
is challenging. All 3 went well beyond just creating a module on the last
unit and created full blown applications much to my absolute frustration
(but secret pride even though they mis allocated time away from the
written.....grrrr).

I am looking for advice on U4. We were considering continuing on with and
extending (no pun intended) ex10shuns4u by creating an SQL server on our
network (we have already done this just as as fun how to exercise during
lunch) and a database of which they are the administrators. Then extending
their existing applications to exchange information from the pda's (we use
emulators) to the SQL DB and creating an application by which Ladana can
generate a properly formatted printable quote by taking data from that
central SQL DB.

Thoughts? Is this suitable or dud idea? Alternatively does anyone already
have a ready to go U4-01 that they would be merciful enough to share with a
struggling SD teacher?

Kind regards,

Brett Groves
