[Year 12 SofDev] So you think you can rock...? - A fun, new interschool competition for Secondary Schools

VITTA proudly presents the *So you think you can rock…? *interschool
competition. Secondary Schools across Victoria are invited to enter this
exciting, fun and educational musical extravaganza! Best of all, it’s free!



*What is So you think you can rock…? *

Schools will go head to head in two categories – Hard and Expert - during
regional heats using the popular game, *Guitar Hero World Tour*. Heats will
be held in all DEECD regions.



Each school may enter one ‘band’ per category consisting of one teacher and
three students (students may come from any year level or may be a
combination of year levels). Bands competing in the heats will be given two
randomly selected *Guitar Hero World Tour* tracks to play in the appropriate
skill level.  The band with the highest combined score in each category of
the heats will win the regional final and will be eligible to compete in the
*So you think you can rock...?* Grand Final at the VITTA Annual Conference
2009.



*How will So you think you can rock…? help in class?*

*So you think you can rock…?* will improve students’ musical understanding
and skills, promote stronger student-teacher relationships, allow students
to set goals, improve concentration in class and best of all, is fun for all
involved!



*FREE Information Sessions*

VITTA will be running FREE information sessions in all DEECD regions in
Victoria. Come along to find out more about the competition, *Guitar Hero
World Tour*, how you can use the games for learning. You can also have a go
at *Guitar Hero World Tour* yourself!

information session you’re registering for.

*Prizes*

Each member of the winning band will receive a *Guitar Hero* guitar and game
for the console of their choice (including PC and Mac). Prizes will be
available for runners up and heat winners. All participants will receive a
certificate of participation.
