[Year 12 SofDev] Study score of 48 - one of my students got

I seem to have been blessed with top students. And I would have to say
that in each of the 4 cases my students have scored the magical 50
(except one), including this year at MGS, I felt that they could get
that result the first day I met them. I would like to think that I made
a difference but I think that sometimes these students could get 50 with
a bit of exam coaching in the first week of term one. This year I was
not even there after second term (although we had finished all the
theory by then) so I can take very little credit. The others that got
low 40s are actually disappointed.
Next year I have again got a class "up" in SoftDevt at Wesley so I
wonder how I will go with a different cohort.
The teachers who should be proudest are those that have students in high
30s/low 40s etc. who scored lower in other subjects or who seemed "off
the rails" at some point.
And what about those who encourage students to keep at it when they are
about to drop out? Or teachers who battle illness to turn up to classes
for their yr 12 students.
 - these are the forgotten heroes.
Have a great New Year.

I think you hit the nail on the head there Harry.

This is the 1st year in 20 yrs of teaching that I haven't got at least
one A or A+.

Hi Frank, I did my Practicum at Monterey in 2004. The kids there were
wilder than at other schools I've visited. Maybe the lower socio-eco is
a factor for lower motivation?

Harry I wish some of mine got going.......I ended up with 9 students.

The best being a score of 34, with a B+ on the exam then 31, 26, 24, 23
the rest were ungraded due to the lack of meeting deadlines.

You put in you get out....IPO.

Hi Folks,

Out of 13 starters for VCE Software Development at Belmont High School,
6 dropped out, my remaining 7 students all passed, although I was
concerned about two of them

  48

  37

  37

  35

  31

  26

  25

That 48 score made my day. It shows that when students are given the
opportunity to do well, then they can, it's up to them. Sometimes,
during the year I thought I was harder-working then they were, lol, but
some finally got going, halleluya.
