<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#1F497D">I have configured moodle 2 on a Linux VM with LDAP sync to AD.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#1F497D">The secret seems to be in the LDAP strings, specifically the container (CN) & organizational units (OU), I found the “How to” examples on Moodle support didn’t work but did with slight alteration. The bind settings
are straightforward. It is important to configure Data Mapping to fill in the mandatory fields for account creation (Full Name, username, email address etc.) & locking those fields in moodle otherwise students may input incorrect data during first logon.
This information must be in AD of course. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
