It is ok - I have solved the problem, if you go to the Create courses
and then choose a category on the RHS there is an assign roles, where I
can allow teachers to create courses within that category only. When I
do this they have no rights to change anything on the front page or the
rest of the site.<br>

Why do I want teachers to create courses? Ownership, force them to
become a little more tech savvy by not doing everything for them, saves
me time (theoretically I might have to end up creating 200+ courses if
every teacher wants a course created for every class they teach, plus I
might not be here/there for long, so I want to leave something that
will grow not die.<br>
<br>
NOW my problem is that everyone is enrolled in every course... have set
default Front Page role as "authenticated user" but still all doingall
courses<br>
<br>
ALSO wondering how do you hide a category (eg make category Teachers,
then put courses such as daily org, extras, yard duty roster etc...)<br>
<br>
It was SO easy when it was just me and the kids :)<br>
