<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> We too upgraded to Moodle 1.6 today ( from
ver 1.4x ), migrated the data and upgraded to a newer server all with
no hitch.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>We did have the talented Jeff Clement to steer the
show as well. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> We stuck to Linux ( Fedora Core 5 ) rather
than move to IIS. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> One glitch in the past was a problem in
migrating from an older version of MySQL due to a reserved word in a field
allowed in the older versions, but not in the newer ones. Apart from that there
were no problems.</FONT></DIV>

a handy contact for the upgrades.<BR><BR>We upgraded and survived .. nothing
broke and everything is working ... even though the migration is paused whilst
we wait for some php and mysql version upgrades. Help screen provides a lot of
handy info about what is needed etc. <BR><BR>It took me all of 5 min to make a
database for recording maintenance log entries (and an hour of tweaking to get
the appearance just right!) .. fantastic and worth the upgrade alone! I'm
going to start moving some of the other odd flat databases in the school over
to this as soon as we finsh the upgrade. Sample attached. <BR><BR>Regards
