I agree but there
are certain tasks that are preformed better on paper and by turning them into
electronic systems you harm staff acceptance of technology.
Eg Bulletin from
pigeon hole versus carry laptop and period 1 and 2 resources to tutor group,
setup laptop, log in download bulletin whilst performing a myriad of other tasks
in 20 minutes.
My point is if your
system reduces work staff will use if it increases work it builds resentment. So
look carefully at the existing system before you change
them.

If you retain parallel
systems, you lose any admin efficiency benefits AND remove any incentive for
staff to bother increasing their use of the system.

Moodle - whats the best method ?
I have looked at a
number of solutions and the most practical for my school involves both paper and
electronic copies.
Our student
reception secretary creates the daily bulletin in word, prints a copy for all
staff pigeon holes and copies it to a network drive, a link from moodle opens
it.
All staff can
contribute to the daily bulletin but it must goes through the secretary so they
either drop off a hand written note, email or
phone.
The biggest issue is
getting staff to read it!

The wiki is a good idea as a knowedge tree
to digest or farm information but I wonder about its value for getting a message
out to all staff. I had a similar problem, how best to work out an e-version of
our staff daily bulletin. In the end, I created an area called Staff and
organised school staff within into groups called Teachers / SSO / Other. A News
forum enables e-mail messages to be posted to all the staff and a Principal
bulletin allows for a daily bulletin to be posted to all the college staff. I
tortured myself over this but in the end decided to turn off the reply and post
options for everybody but the admin team and office staff. We have other forums
for social chat, footy tipping, professional learning teams tc but they are
opt-in and small groups rather than spam for all.

daily bulletin

differently ?
