[Moodle] Issues with updated Moodle

Did your technicians put your Moodle into maintenance mode to do the update. If they still have it in maintenance mode you won't be able to do anything in Moodle.

Hoping someone can help,
Over the break the techs updated to the latest version of Moodle...
I have been able to set up new courses, but not add files or activities.
I found the new "activity chooser" button and switched that to on, and although I can now see the activities I still can't add any...
Am I doing a blokes look? Or has something not been checked?
