[Moodle] Moodle moot hardware qn..

Hi again kiddies..
I got 2 acer boxes to bring with me..just made em redundant with our upgrades so I grabbed 2...they currently run XP so should be fine for the UBUNTU and MOODLE stuff.
BUT.. they dont have a CD-ROM as are ex student classroom machines and I wont be bringing a monitor with me, just the boxes, kboard and mouse plus power cable...so will need access to a monitor somewhere on the day.
Also, due to no CD-ROM, I vaguely remember someone saying they had a USB with the UBUNTU programs on them and had it set up so could boot from that USB, can we do that for my two machines on the day please, I have version 8.04.1 LTS Desktop Edition of Ubuntu, 8.04 Kubuntu and Edubuntu and the Ubuntu 8.04.1 LTS Server edition too. i will gladly supply a couple of USB's if that will make it easier. I can just copy via my laptop the ubuntu etc disks to the USB devices so we can boot from them - will that work??
I wish to set up one box with the server plus moodle and the other with a multi-platform choice of op. systems ..1.windows  2. Ubuntu  3. Kubuntu.
Why? To show it can be done...why else!!  So if you wizzes out there know how, I'd be grateful and will see you at Ros's place when she eventually gives me the address, on the 13th.

I would like to come too. I am from Alexandra SC. We don't have Moodle up and running yet but have a part time tech (David Scott) who is very interested. I have also had it running on my laptop.

		So either Mon Jan 13th or Tues Jan 14th (pref not the Wed) at my place in Bentleigh (there is plenty of room Roland!)
		Anyone have a preference?
		Perhaps 1pm onwards (I shall provide nibblies and drinks/tea/coffee)
		Projector and wireless or plugin to network all okay, although a screen might be handy. BYO lappie
		Roland if you need to bring kids if Linda is working they can have a swim.
		Possible activities -
		- Julian will talk via elluminate and can demo Moodle 2.0 with Mahara, and themes and/or podcasting within moodle, while changing nappies!
		- we can set up some boxes if ppl want to get their moodle happening from scratch (BYOBox)
		- we can share our moodle setups and get help for things we want to be able to do (eg setting roles and permissions, installing mahara, whatever...)

		And the next week we can all meet up again at the linux conf!!!

		Those who so far have said they will be attending - Laurie S, Kent Mc, Phil B, Suz A, Donna B, Phil Pike, Roland, Julian (via elluminate) and me.
