[Moodle] login authentication

Hi alan

If I understand your problem correctly its not authentication but rather privileges 

 

A teacher can only be assigned to a course but a creator can create then teach a course

 

See below from the Administrator -> Users

 

Assign teachers: Find a course then use the icon to add teachers  

Assign creators: Creators can create new courses and teach in them

Hi Stephen. Thanks for the reply. The issue here is that the teacher cannot create any courses at all when first logging in. It's not like she has to be added as a teacher in a course created by another teacher.

A staff member needs to be added as a "teacher" to each moodle course separately before getting privileges as a teacher.

A staff member may be a teacher of one course and NOT have teacher rights in another course (i.e. one that they do Not teach)

A student can be given rights of a teacher in one course that they are asked to ménage without any effect on the security of other courses.

 

I think that your teacher needs to be added to the teacher list in the course or courses you speak of.

Hi all. 

 

I have a student Johnson.el who logs in to moodle and gets only student views. I also have a teacher Johnson.e who logs into moodle and is also getting student access only. The teacher is not able to create any courses. Has any one encountered this kind of problem before ?
