Also agree that the Wiki is one of the MOST powerful ideas to emerge online this century.
Just look at how many are being spawned inside and outside organisations.

Suggesting that all subjects have a wiki as the core of their "shared" knowledge and add to it as the course develops.
Wiki's with content specific for subjects would be invaluable (e.g. one that contained all of the new study design glossaries and
the study design content.
The ability to have multiple wiki's in the same course also allows a teacher supplied wiki to be alongside a student developed wiki
etc etc.

There are a number of problems with the wiki module in moodle (see http://docs.moodle.org/en/Wiki_requirements) but nevertheless, it
is still a wonderful tool.....

PS: Using it at school for full school administrative manual - works amazingly well !!!

Yes I do .. have also set up a Moodle class at Monash Unit for a media unit to for the student to work together on a class wiki.
They are really excited about what can be done as a group.

We looked at Wikipeedia and discussed what was different about the database that we were building. As a first step, we thought it
would be good to pool our knowledge, build some links then step back to research our perceptions and backup our words.

Too many strategies to detail. Good preparation helps (as allways) .. create a page that lists all the students and lists all the
pages that they are working on (with obvious links to the page) I needed this to track what work had been done by my students to
assess their work. Kind of things I was looking for in any article was - message and clarity, spelling and gramar, at least 2 links
to current topics and 1 link to a new topic (negotiated with me), reference links to work cited, picture etc.

I have an assessment rubric that I am happy to share.

.. my year 12's wanted to have a go at adding in some assessment and feedback notes for the work by my year 10's. Adding in a cross
age tutoring component is a fascinating idea.

Hello Fellow Moodlers.
Something a little off-topic, but closely related to valid uses for Moodle in our over-worked schools.
Have any of you experimented with (or seen others doing it) using the CMS/wiki/etc of Moodle to allow teachers to help one another
with pedagogical problems? e.g. how to get kids interested, disciplining the little darlings, etc etc...
I look forward to reading your replies, please!!!
