Off the top of my head, website developers use software to collect data and analyse it for types of browsers, search strings, which countries visited, how often people visited (hits), numbers of first time users to the website, which URLs they came from. There are basic PHP functions which reveal which browsers are used with datestamp and timestamp. All that data can be visualised with software to produce graphs based on the criteria you wish to use. But I don't have the textbook at hand so maybe all this is there anyway.<br>

I'm struggling to come up with something meaningful in answer to the question in the sample task in Potts (p123) that asks students to list 3 techniques that could be used by the organisation to acquire data via their website.</span></div>
