I guess it's possible, but I fear you might be expecting too much of your kids in the time available. Then there's the risk that you'll lose focus on the database and spend too much effort on the website. Most of us have enough trouble getting kids skilled up for databases alone, let alone incorporating a website connection which will contribute no marks towards the kids' assessment for the outcome.<br>
<br>But, having said that, if you fulfil the requirements of the study design & other gospels (using a RDBMS and covering the mandated functions) and don't overburden your kids, noone could really complain.<br><br>

My reading is this:<br>

*U3O2* is the mandated database task with a web flavour, but you don't have<br>
to create an *online* database with MySQL and PHP etc. It is just a normal<br>
database "to manipulate data typically acquired through websites" (e.g.<br>
customer orders that came in via a web form). The database itself does not<br>
have to be online.<br>
<br>
The tool for *U4O1* is a choice between spreadsheets and databases to<br>
"create solutions to information problems". There is no mandated web<br>
component. If you want to solve an information problem that has a web<br>
element, you can. But you don't have to. You could do something like U3O2<br>
again if you liked. Again, the database does not have to be online.<br>
<br>
Note that if you use databases again in U4O1, there are some extra skills<br>
students need to exercise:<br>
<br>
- import/export of data<br>
- format data for display<br>
- create and edit a range of forms, including different data types and<br>
controls<br>
- create and edit a range of formatted reports.<br>
<br>

As a side note, it's dead-easy to put a Filemaker database only with Instant<br>
Web Publishing. Flick an option switch in the sharing setup and bingo! it's<br>
online. Sweet.<br>
