ridiculous "spam protection" system that is causing the feedback. I know I am
suffering from email overload and am (not bewitched) quite bothered and
bewildered. I am also thankful that I am not on my dial up connection in
the Latobe valley at the moment :-)</FONT></DIV>

challenges the itapps list address to identify itself as friend or foe by
writing back to <A
href="mailto:itapps@edulists.com.au">itapps@edulists.com.au</A>. What does
that do ? Creates a mailing loop as the list writes back to all subscrbers,
one of which is <FONT size=3><A href="mailto:jh@ekc.vic.edu.au"><FONT
size=2>jh@ekc.vic.edu.au</FONT></A><FONT size=2> whose gateway sends out
another challenge. </FONT></FONT></FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>Identical to out of office replies. A pain in the neck
and on the netiquette guidelines as an unacceptable feature of
email use for subscribers.</FONT></DIV>

domain ekc.vic.edu.au and the lag time this takes is what will test your
patience.</FONT></DIV>
