Some great ideas on this extensive thread .. is anybody interested in rewriting these into a summary or synopsis of suggestions for the DLTV newsletter?

I wanted to keep the subject running so it was an important lifeline. Paid off too as we now have two classes back at year 11 and at year 12. Quite a bit of flipping and flopping but it can be done if you are prepared to juggle this. Occasionally I would start with a common topic then split the groups up for a specialist tutorial. My priority was year 12, especially at the start of term 4 and before each outcome.

I made good use of Edmodo to schedule tasks / pop quizes etc, Evernote as a place to chuck stuff for review and Googledocs to create study teams for homework. The NCSS Grok Learning Programming challenge for my year 11’s were a delight to work with. Many of them went onto year 12 after this.

I will have a mixed class next year and think I will use Google classroom to separate the work and tasks; we have just organised a domain for our school. Google Drive, Edmodo, Schoology, Screencast-o-matic, Socrative and Quizlet are all free, handy ways of maintaining content leaving you free to walk around and work with individuals.

Unfortunately for 2015 it looks like the numbers have decreased and I have been given a combined Year 11 and 12 IT class (Year 12 IT Apps). Was just wondering for those that have done this before, can you please give me advice or guidance on how you made this work.
