[Year 12 IT Apps] Unit 3 Task 2 - Technical requirements

Hi Tran.

Check the U3O1 key knowledge - the list includes:

operating system
web server software
protocols
security
proxy servers

I didn't really push the technical details very hard last year. ITA
students tend not to be overly skilled with detailed technical
details.

I covered the basics of: web servers and their software; proxy
servers; basics about routers, cables/wireless, modems; a little on
TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, mail protocols, and Ethernet; ISPs, the DNS,
registrars, and web hosts; and internet connections (ADSL, Cable, 3G,
dialup, satellite).

Focus on network security - the examiners love that.

The exam is not likely to demand really gory technical details of kids
(e.g. the OSI model or Ethernet checksum calculations).  A broad
understanding of the technical side of website hosting should suffice.
