[Year 12 IT Apps] teaching

On another matter I would like to air for comment.
In teaching my Yr12  class. I have been instructed not put in too much effort in with academically low performing students because I wont get much added value to the their end of year score. This has nothing to do with students behaviour.

Is this sound advice?
