[Year 12 IT Apps] Answers to Extended Response Sample Questions

Dear colleagues

It is the case for all studies that no answers are provided for sample questions, with the exception of multiple choice questions (and this is the first year that this has happened). This is a decision made by the Examinations Unit (not a curriculum decision), but I am very happy to discuss your concerns with the unit manager.

This really annoys me.  And I'm not even teaching Year 12 this year.  When are vcaa going to give us some sample solutions to their sample problems?  Why are they unable to do this  as a matter of course, each time they bring out a new study design?  I bet Maths teachers get solutions to sample Maths problems.  Why is ITA any different?    Is the sky going to fall down?   Will the earth stop spinning on its axis?

No.

It may actually help teachers to come to grips with the course and what is expected.

I'm not really expecting an answer from vcaa (Paula?)  but it would be nice if someone could explain or even justify this stance.

I'm thinking of doing some, but I dread tackling some of those dodgy questions... particularly the normalisation one (to which I object).

However I'm sure other people are champing at the bit and keen to have a go themselves  ;-)
