[Year 12 IT Apps] Full sentences versus dot points

as a marker (in other subjects) I find dot points a lot easier to mark and I find, mostly, that dot points tend to cover the answer without the waffle padding and it appears that perhaps without the extra padding that students re more focussed on answering the question. I have always emphasised to my students to use dot point where they are comfortable because this is not an english exam - it is testing their higher order thinking through the sieve of ICT.
I also point out that the markers will like them a lot more if there is less to read and so their relevant answer is easier to see. Often that is the persuading factor - a marker "on side" is better than one who is not; especially at 1 am in the morning under the dim kitchen light (yes I now wear glasses to read)

Their ESL background makes it always constant challenge but it helps provide some scaffolding for their answer and hopefully (perhaps) enough of a clue for the examiner to understand what they are actually trying to say.

I've never read anything in my memory in examiners reports about not using dot points in answers. Also, as a preference, when marking I actually find it easier to mark work that has been dot pointed. Is there a particular stem that requires no dot points? Opinions??
