[Year 12 IT Apps] VISTA and your school

Hampton Park Secondary College changed to Vista with the new laptops at the
end of last year. The network is still using XP. We were told we had no
choice about the operating system. It had to be Vista. I think one person
likes it, but everyone elso would much rather have XP.

Our last batch of 2008 laptops came with VISTA. It operated nowhere else in
the school and caused lots of problems.

For this year's laptops the techs created their own XP image and many of
those with VISTA are requesting rollbacks.

Hi all,
Slightly off topic, but I would like opinions with what schools are doing re
VISTA.
It was deployed over the Xmas holidays here and we have had no end of
problems mainly with very slow speed issues. I am trying to convince powers
to be to roll back to XP.

Any comments ?

Thanks,
