filerequest

Hi
***** Allan Barnes requested the attachment - I've included my preamble to
put it in context.
***** I'm having limited success with other solutions - RealPlayer is
probably best

There are many solutions to downloading Youtube and other video from
websites.

I've just spent 2 days at an overnight conference for our staff (at a winery
and I don't drink!).

It was focussed on practical ICT stuff - photostory, blogs, forums, digital
portfolios, webquests.

Unfortunately I had to miss the Prin's presentation on Ultranet as I was
setting up for my first session!!

It was a very successful 2 days - staff felt genuinely enthused (and
up-skilled - if that's a real word!).

I showed keepvid as a simple solution to getting Youtube stuff for use at
school - it's blocked at MontySC.

A few found the instructions a little daunting and asked for a guide. as the
weather was freezing I spent the hour after the sessions finished writing
the attached instead of wandering the beautiful countryside. I guess that
may qualify me as a NERD!

I mentioned a few other solutions at the bottom - these require
installation, but are then quite easy. keepvid requires a file name change
which some may find difficult - but should pick it up once shown.

keepvid only works with a limited number of sites. Some other solutions work
with a greater varietyof sites - some will even grab Newstopia from SBS!
