Russell and colleagues

In response to the question 'are there any criteria for evaluating the
effectiveness of data security management strategies'?, I refer you to
the glossary item 'effectiveness' (on page 48). Relevant examples from
that definition include reliability of strategies, and those relating to
file management such as integrity of data and security. Within these
broader categories, further refinements could be proposed, dependent on
the nature of the scenario. Note that students are not required to
propose criteria to measure efficiency.

Regarding depth of treatment for 'procedures and equipment for
preventing unauthorised access to data ...' students would need to have
sufficient knowledge of procedures and equipment so that they could
propose and justify strategies. A list of security devices is provided
in the glossary, hence, students would need to have knowledge of each
item listed and an understanding of their suitability to deal with
accidental and deliberate actions and equipment malfunctions.

Referring to past examination papers may also give some sense of depth
of treatment.

Regards

Paula
