Hello Zach

not wishing to defend CASES21 at all (we stopped using it for timetabling and moved to TimeTable Solutions), but re

>Also did you know that CASES only exports in Microsoft Excel? You can't even get a Text file out of it.

You can export text files (as CSV) - I do it all the time to collect data for MarkBook. You need to be given access to the Export Utility and once you enter it there are many standard exports and you can also create your own. To do the latter you need to nut out the CASES schema to some extent and knowing some SQL helps as well. There is an MS-Access-like query grid but it's a bit clunky and seems to get lost if you try something too complex (...but apart from that, what else have the Romans done for us??)

All-in-all, if you only intend to export a particular data set once then the Quick list which generates an Excel SS is the best way to go (by the way, watch out for the macro - or something - that gets embedded in the sheet!). Otherwise, for regular export, coming to grips with the export tools is well worth the trouble.
