We have put some of the Reflections AV EWB frames into our prep
classrooms.
Not only are the projector placed at an angle that there is ALMOST no
shadow but the board can be mechanically lowered or raised.

Here is an invitation to pop in and check them out if you wish.

Hi Andrew

I think that Diane's situation has a lot of merit. One concern however
would be the siting of the projector in a mobile situation and shadows
on the board. I remember at the conference that there were some IWBs
that had a short throw projector that was on a fram attached to the
board - might be a better solution.

Andrew

We put a moveable board (ie. not wall mounted and using a portable
projector) into the Library for staff training. It meant that we could
have classes in the library during the day and get the best possible use
from the board. Staff meetings and PD sessions are usually after school
so we are able to fully utilize the board; after all, it's a costly
expense and if it's not used constantly, it becomes the white elephant
as you suggested.

We book library lessons through BookIt and it's a case of first come,
first served.

Hope this helps.

Dear all

Apologies for the of topic question.

This is relevant to all staff who have Interactive Whiteboards at their
school.

Currently the school is looking at purchasing their sixth whiteboard,
with the Idea being to place it into the staffroom.

The reason behind it is that they hope it can be used for staff meetings
as well as training and show'n'tell for staff.

I can personally see the benefits of that i can also see that it may be
a white elephant.

Have any schools done this or heard of this being done and can give me
some feedback.

Thanks in advance

Andrew
