[Year 12 IPM] RE: Electronic Markbook

This is by no means a teacher-oriented solution but I use Palm Desktop. It's
a free download. I like it because I can put in my timetable, and have the
daily to-do list underneath each day. All my subjects are colour-coded and
the tasks for the day are colour-coded as well. I can't do a lesson plan
with it but I can attach lesson plans as Word documents to my lesson
entries. If I don't tick off a task as done it carries on to the next day
and keeps carrying on until I do it and mark it off. I've tried every
teacher solution that is offered (well for the Mac platform anyway!) and
this works the best for me. And of course it syncs perfectly with my Palm
Z22 ($150).

I've invested a lot of time and (to a lesser extent) money into using IT as
a tool to both enhance learning and make my life easier. It's taken a while
but this investment is now paying off in both areas. I'm now running PD at
school for other teachers, showing them how to leverage IT resources.

My system works and I couldn't imagine working without it.

It would be interesting to hear about other people's systems.
