Kambrya College are doing some great stuff and just along this line, will
send you a copy of their handbook that I have on my desktop. I am fascinated
by the way that they integrated VCE/VET/VCAL and Standards. Am typing this
up at a curriculum committee meeting where we are considering adopting
aspects of their structure.

Regards Roland (sitting near network point of course ;-)

Subject: [Year 12 IPM] OT - Year 9-10 Structure

G'day

My school is investigating the possibility of re-structuring the
Middle School (years 9 and 10). We are currently running a semester
based elective system with some core Units - 6 blocks of four periods
and 2 of three periods.

Are there schools out there with different approaches that could give
us some ideas?

We are looking at a trimester system as one possibility ....

Reasons for change include motivation of Year 9 students, of boys ,
allowing for extension of Year 10 into Units 1 & 2 , etc....

Please reply off-list .... don't want to overburden the list with
this ....

Thanks

Graham Gales
