Subject: [English] JOB: Editor, Australian Journal of Language and Literacy

Hi all,

"The Australian Literacy Educators' Association is dedicated to the
improvement of literacy development and language learning at all levels."

Fwd: CALLS FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

 http://www.alea.edu.au/

Australian Journal of Language and Literacy EDITOR/S

National Council invites members interested in becoming Editor, Australian
Journal of Language and Literacy to forward an expression of interest to
the Publications Manager Marion Meiers, meiers at acer.edu.au

The appointee for the position will be confirmed by September 2008. The
initial two-year term will begin in February 2009 but the incoming editor
would gain valuable experience by liaising with the current editor, Prof.
Len Unsworth and his team at University of New England, in the period
between selection and official appointment. Expressions of interest should
include details of the applicant's experience in publishing, in literacy
education and in ALEA activities as well as a brief outline of ideas for
future issues of the journal .

There are three ALEA journals and each editor is responsible to ALEA
National Council through the Publications Manager. The Australian Journal
of Language and Literacy is a per reviewed journal. The Editor has
responsibility for seeking manuscripts, sending them to the Review Board,
selecting items for each issue, editing the material and sending the
penultimate text to the Production Editor. The Production Editor liaises
with the journal Editor about the final detail for each issue, prepares
the manuscript for printing and coordinates production.
