Call for papers

Through English in Australia, AATE has a strong commitment to
supporting and publishing quality educational research that is
rigorous and evidence based.

The second edition of English in Australia in 2008 will be a themed
edition of the journal focusing on teacher research. We are
interested in manuscripts dealing with any aspect of research
undertaken by and with English teachers in English classrooms, the
role of research, and how research impacts on English teachers and
teaching. Research is interpreted broadly and can be:

· school based
· action or practice based
· based on other forms of empirical and theoretical research
· drawn from and facilitative of group collaboration and the
sharing of professional knowledge
· critically reflective activities by individual teachers and
students

Teachers find educational research most valuable when it enables them
to extend and strengthen their professional knowledge and skills, and
when it also assists in bringing about improved learning for
students, therefore any manuscripts should link outcomes of the
research with implications for professional learning and classroom
practice.
International perspectives are welcomed. All manuscripts will be
subject to the usual review processes. Please refer to English in
Australia for authorial guidelines or contact the Editor, Dr Karen Moni.
