Thank you, Stephen, for rehabilitating the discussion list. Many of us really appreciate this way of keeping in touch with colleagues and important English debates, new texts, teaching methods and so on.

Hi all,

Welcome to your new English Teacher's Mailing List! Please
save this email for future reference regarding your English list.

As you know, being a member of the old 'English' mailing list,
recently there were some technical problems, and so I have made
additional and much better arrangements for our English email list.

Being a existing member of the English list, your email address
has been automatically added to this new list, and hence you do
not need to do anything, besides note the new English list address:

To write to everyone on this list, write to: english at edulists.com.au

The new English list is Moderated by myself, Stephen Loosley, with
the very kind assistance of Kevork Krozian whom is the IT manager
at Forest Hill College, Victoria. Kevork has set up the Edulists web
site and list-service voluntarily, and now manages many teacher lists.

In terms of this new list it is a shared environment used by subscribers.
At all times list members need to agree to abide by the following Code
of Ethical Practice for use of this list.

All members of this list agree to :

1. seek to inform, question and clarify

2. not intend to harm

3. avoid unprofessional language

4. recognise individuals right to privacy

5. recognise ownership of intellectual resources

6. maintain upto date virus detection and cleaning

7. Take responsibility for subscribing and unsubscribing to the list

8. Avoid setting "out of office" type auto replies on subscribed email
accounts as these can cause mail loops on mailing lists

9. Always identify his or her self with a clear signature that shows
name, location of school ( if applicable ) and capacity in which
participating on the list eg. Teacher of the subject , faculty leader,
or industry representative, etc, as appropriate.

10. On some lists accept receipt of brief "infomercials" from time to
time (rarely) and intended to information/resources in order to assist.

Please always remember your one stop location for all Mailing List
related information is http://www.edulists.com.au and the companion

or from digest mode, change your password, etc) just visit the website

You can also make such adjustments via email by sending a message to:

  english-request at edulists.com.au

with the word `help' in the subject or body (don't include the
quotes), and you will get back a message with instructions.

We, or rather I, hope you enjoy using the list, and that you find
the expanded list resources now available to you as being helpful.
