Yep - ordered my rollover as a Mac. I have been using a Macbook Pro for
a couple of months now and love it. I have been doing my reports on
Markbook via Parallels without a fuss. Over the hols, I am going to get
Ubuntu running on Parallels as my first quick attempt didn't work and
possibly go a dual boot with ubuntu as well.<br>
I have been using NeoOffice (which sometimes crashes on printing),
Thunderbird, Firefox and Sunbird as the basic set of apps for day to
day stuff. Trouble is I have been to busy to really sit down and play
with the mac apps.<br>
I have been enjoying the change just for changes sake too, however it
is really funny how quick you adapt.<br>
I work on the Mac at school all day, then jump onto either Ubuntu or
(to a lesser extent) Windows at home and all the shortcuts/mouse etc
come naturally. I love being multilingual with Operating Systems. :)<br>

It didn't really matter what operating system we use .. shift happens.
I saw this myself at the VITTA conference last year after a day long
session demonstrating programming with Python in the Apple lab. It
didn't matter. A lighter weight and better design are also factors I am
considering .. bluetooth, perhaps Apple iPhone integration??<br>

<div>With due dignity to all users and systems, I do not wish to turn
this into a mac / windows flame or debate about incremental advantages.
Jokes about one or two button mice mean nothing when both systems plug
and play just about anything you throw at them.<br>

Somebody once described this to me as how we learn to play chess. It
doesn't matter if your pieces are made of finely crafted glass or
bottle tops. It doesn't matter if the chess board is made of ivory or
newspaper. What matters more is the game that you play.<br>

Is anybody thinking along the same path?<br>
