Big question. It depends on the needs of your school.

A Google search will turn up many themes, both paid and free. You could
even hire a web developer to a custom create one for the school. There are
also CMS like drupral (https://www.drupal.org/), Moodle (https://moodle.org/),
or Joomla (www.joomla.org). A fuller list can be found on wikipedia (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_content_management_systems). The setup
of a CMS needs someone with a bit of IT nous, but once that's done the
adding of content is usually easy for non-IT staff.
