I would very much be interested like Andrew to see the lessons and details too.

We have an elective in Year 9 for Coding at the moment, however I am looking at developing my own knowledge in building apps.

Thanking you in advance.

Kind Regards,

I would be very interested in seeing the lessons and details myself. I have used Appinventor for Android and seen some amazing work with a simple learning curve.
I am working through a process of making programming in many facets part of the school curriculum at year 9 and 10.
I have two electives in mind for year 10 one based on XNA and C# (thanks to Adrian Janson) and one on PHP and Web design (thanks Kevork Krozian and Margaret Iaquinto) and would like our year 9 integrated project to look at application development that could support the course they are doing.

Hi Gavin,

Since we do not have Mac in our school, I have been using DragonFireSDK (http://www.dragonfiresdk.com/). The main programming language is C or C++ and DragonFireSDK provides wrappers for iPhone development.

I can share the lessons and other details.

I have also heard of CaronaSDK which is far more versatile than Dragonfire but I am yet to learn it to teach it.

Hi all.

I was wondering if there is anyone creating iPhone apps using PC. I'm a Mac user, but my students have PC's, so I am looking to find out what the best option is for students.

Thank-you

Gavin Ferrier

You can only natively program in Objective C on a Mac, however you can use a number of cloud based development tools which will work perfectly with your students. We have used the following with students and I have also used these extensively within my own apps that are now on the store

www.buzztouch.com ? A CMS platform, built entirely in the cloud. Extremely powerful and you own the source code when its packaged and downloaded.

Www.apparchitect.com ? A great tool for piecing together apps in the cloud. We had students here in Boort develop apps for local businesses using this tool. They can preview live as its being built by using the App Architect aPP

www.redfoundry.com ? I use this extensively in my own app development company. Build and compile native iPhone/Android apps programmed in RML. A variant of HTML

http://phonegap.com/ - Build cross platform apps with HTML/CSS
