Hi Kevork,

at Santa the eLearning person has 10 periods a fortnight (40 periods per fortnight cycle) at a POL 3.

In fulfilling these responsibilities, the eLearning Lead Teacher will: 

???	Develop monitoring and coaching relationships with teachers
???	Develop protocols for working with teachers in classrooms 
???	Work in classrooms with teachers
???	Lead discussions with staff on pedagogy that foster a collaborative and critical use of E-learning and classroom practice
???	Reflect on classroom pedagogies, identify professional learning priorities and lead relevant action research projects 
???	Maintain a database of classroom mentoring activities
???	Provide documentation on policies/processes and procedures for staff use
???	Sourcing innovations in the use of technology in education and distribute this information to relevant personnel e.g. Domain Leaders
???	Perform any other duties/responsibilities as required by the Principal

Hi Folks,

 

 Just gathering data about the subject line - elearning manager role, time
and recognition.

I know of schools where the role is:

 

1.        Solely assisting other teachers to embed elearning in their
classes, sort of an elearning coach with hands on team teaching active
involvement in the classes of colleagues. Elearning as leading teacher role,
only 1 class to teach, no involvement with infrastructure or laptops or any
other duties. Plus 2 assistants allocated to help around 3 periods per week
in a 30 period week. 

2.       Part 1 plus laptops, plus infrastructure responsibility if not
entirely hands on,  plus ultranet rollout with time release around  6
periods per week in a 30 period week.  No assistants allocated to help.

3.       Anything in between 1 and 2.

 

Do others have any other variations on this ?  Rationale ? Justification ?
Expected targets and over what period ?

Any other suggestions or experiences welcome.

we use it at Wallan SC with year 7 students ->  4-5 week intro; basic
efforts, then create script to navigate through a maze. This has been at
Wallan for at least two years.

I intro'd them to   learnscratch.org  which has accelerated the learning of
the more able students - allowing them to progress at their own pace

 

Some get distracted by the pretty factor butmost do quite well.  Older
students still like ot thave fun with it - mostly for making games - even my
year 10 students
