Hi Susan

You should be able to get all these details from your ultranet coach.
All students are being deployed as we speak with about 47,000 already
deployed. Whether your school students are deployed yet will depend on
the Cycle that your school trained in and/or the dates nominated by your
school for deployment of parents and students. Again, your ultranet
coach should know those details. The deployment is done in Melbourne.

I was of the understanding that First Class is one of the timetabling
packages that is compatible with CASES21 and therefore with the
ultranet. As you said you may have some issues with the vertical
curriculum but there needs to be flexibility anyway as we are talking
about both primary, secondary and specialist schools which all need to
be accommodated.

While there are schools who are trialling online learning with the
ultranet, it's very early days yet and I would think they would be in
the minority. However I'm sure there are some teachers out there who are
already embracing it. The difficulty is of course that unless those
students belong to your school, you cannot see their learning tasks or
learner profiles. Which makes it hard to share these particular
activities and ideas. However many teachers are already creating design
spaces on the ultranet which illustrate the learning tasks and
activities that they are creating for their students.

cheers

Subject: [elearning] CASES Class lists and Secondary Schools - Linking
withthe Ultranet

Hi all

I was wondering if any state secondary schools out there are using the
Ultranet with their classes. In particular:

* Are your classes in CASES already or did you have to add them?

* If your classes are not in CASES, do you have a plan or
timeline for the process?

At Geelong High, we use First Class for our classes and this is not
linked with CASES. Our entire curriculum is elective based with a
vertical curriculum, so there is no easy import as there are no core
classes!
