<p class="MsoNormal">Hi all, </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Our school is going through a review this year and I have been given the task to look at specialist subjects in the middle school.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Currently we have the following system within Design Technology but are looking into other options that maybe possible.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Year 7 – 1, 70 minute period per week for Design Technology (Wood, ,Metal, Plastics & CAD) for 1 semester. Then the next semester the same in Food and Fabrics.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Year 8 – 3, 70 minute periods per fortnight for Design Technology (Wood, ,Metal, Plastics & CAD) for 1 semester. Then the next semester the same in Food.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Years 7 and 8 are compulsory but from Year 9 onwards it is an elective subject.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">I am not sure if this is the norm or if other schools have a different set up. Any suggestions/information to feedback would be much appreciated.</p>
