<div style="direction: ltr;font-family: Tahoma;color: #000000;font-size: 10pt;">I feel compelled to contribute on this discussion. Sadly there are issues to do with designing and making 240V lamps in schools. Whilst I am enthused about the idea because this
kind of brief has great design scope, the finished lamps would need to comply with the relevant Australian Standards [AS/NZ3000], and in particular the standards to do with the wiring being mechanically secured [ie with a gland or saddle] and also to do with
the lamps stability [ie it cant be top heavy with a narrow base], as well as the rated insulation. In addition, the finished lamps need to be tagged to verify electrical safety. The school might be able to do this for you, but if there is any metal anywhere
on it, it needs to be earthed properly or double insulated and having tried this out before, it is often difficult to achieve this with a student made base and/or shade. I am a qualified electrician [practicing electrician in a former life!], been teaching
Design & Tech for 30 years and recommend that you do not contemplate using a 240V light fitting with students.

My thoughts are the revisions are very good, there is finally a criterion that assesses the actual quality of the product without the requirement for folio documentation and the four part ev. Criteria for finished product has a statement at each level.<br>

The only issues I can find is in Criterion 1 - The product design process is mentioned in both of these statements. I believe the first statement should finish after "design options" and the "product design process" should remain in the second statement.<br>
