    <div class="moz-cite-prefix">I am a Woodwork teacher that has also
      been extremely dissapointed for my students. One in particular put
      his heart and soul into his SAT only to find two pages in a 100
      page folio not fitting the criteria due to photos indicating lack
      of PPE. I agree this should not have been included but can not
      understand for the life of me why the mistakes were not pointed
      out and a correction or removal of these faults allowed. When
      everything else was up to A+ Standard, isn't this what we want to
      see as a teaching and student community? Are we going to go 100%
      in the opposite direction from the original intent of Top Designs
      and the Design Curriculum and become so pedantic that no student
      in the ordinary school will ever be able to meet the criteria?
      Many of the students that have pushed themselves to the limits
      have never succeeded in school before. Many hope to go on in a
      trade representing their skills. What is the future for our
      subject if allowances are not made for being human?<br>

                        Product Design and Technology (wood) students
                        work on display in 2013.&nbsp; It is a slap in the
                        face to all high achieving students and their
                        teachers who put in an extraordinary amount of
                        time and effort only to be told that some
                        aspects of the study design were not covered
                        perfectly. In the Top designs application
                        process, the work only needed to be of A+
                        standard.&nbsp; Nowhere does it say that all aspects
                        of the work needed to be perfect.&nbsp; Many students
                        who applied and then subsequently rejected, were
                        devastated to be told that from the 80 plus
                        pages that they produced, there was 1 or 2 pages
                        that weren&#8217;t perfect. Is this the path PDT wood
                        is taking? There should have been a showcase of
                        work from all areas of the PDT domain or a least
                        a better excuse to totally disregard work from
                        our area. <o:p></o:p></p>
