Hi Peter,
I have 5 x Up 3D printers and they work reasonably well, regardless of what anyone says, they all have issues with heat and warping.. It is best to minimise this by various means and we have many sucessfull prints. We use it to build replica cannons and other parts that have been designed using CAD (ProDesktop for us,, yes we are still in the dark ages with CAD) Girls use them to design and print jewlelry peices, and we also use it in robotics with PicAxe and our own laser is useful to cut acrylic and fabrics for use in design.. we are only a 7-10 college.. but we love the 3D print programcwell.. After intial purchase, it a cheaper alternative to run technology.. I would prefer to use a much larger machine like the Mojo,, it is user friendly and disolves the scaffolding rather than having to cut it away like on the Ups.. Iwould recommend you contacting Quantum Victoria who just ran a fantastic PD and gave away a 3D printer to each school group.. But there PD on software applications is well worth the day as it creates some wonderful creations and adaptations of STL files.. Good luck and aim for a Mojo..
