is paid as an SSO1 Range 1 for the most of the day and then other trained
teaching and nonteaching staff for the rest. I question whether=
we need
(trained nurses) in the sick bay and be careful, because unless you are payi=
ng
very high salary rates you will find that most used to be nurses and for
various reasons have not re registered which ultimately means they are no
longer nurses are only legally allowed to practice First Aid and that is as
long as they <b><u><span style=3D'font-weight:bold'>have a current First Aid
Certificate</span></u></b>, the majority of injuries only require minor Firs=
t
Aid treatment and even if it is major the person would still only be
administering First Aid and then calling an ambulance etc. I also thin=
k that
once we use the word ‘NURSE’ parents tend to use the school more=
as
a doctors surgery than a school, expecting that we will look after sick and
injured students, rather than get professional help. I would suggest t=
hat you
have a fully qualified First Aid Officer which is what is legally required a=
nd
just pay them at the SSO1. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
